Calor
Calor is the name of a planet whose existence has never been confirmed. Legend has it that the African nation known as Gorilla City originated from Calor, but this claim is considered by many to be erroneous.

Canon
Canon is a term which refers to the authoritative nature of a specific event. Events that take place within the internal reality of the Post-Crisis, mainstream DC Universe are considered canon, whereas other events may be subject to interpretation, such as Pre-Crisis material, alternate realities, dream sequences and licensed properties. Events that take place in genre-specific environments such as Starfire or Atari Force are likewise considered non-canon.

Carangian Tigracat
A Carangian Tigracat is an animal native to the planet Thanagar. One of Byth Rok's allies once consumed a Changeling Pill which enabled him to assume the shape of a Carangian Tigracrat. Hawkman and Hawkgirl fought the criminal and was able to defeat him by using teamwork.

Cartoon Network
Cartoon Network is a cable television network created by Turner Broadcasting which primarily shows animated programming. DC Comics related projects include The Batman, Justice League/Unlimited and Teen Titans.
Cestus
A cestus is an ancient battle glove made of leather thongs that were tied over the hand. Some cestus' were augmented with metal studs or spikes. In effect, a cestus is the Classic World's equivalent to brass knuckles. Hawkman frequently uses a cestus as part of his crime-fighting arsenal.

Changeling Pill
A Changeling Pill, or Body-Change Pill, is a capsule developed on the planet Thanagar by a scientist named Krotan. The pill enables the consumer to physically alter their form into that of another being or animal. Master thief Byth Rok broke into Krotan's laboratory and stole the Changeling Pill. After consuming it, he ventured to the planet Earth and used his shape-changing capabilities to commit a series of crimes.

Chief
Commonly used to describe the highest authoritative member of a Native American tribe. Also used to denote rank in certain military units. Most often used as an affectionate (though unsolicited) nickname for Daily Planet managing editor Perry White. White is often seen shouting, "Don't call me chief!"

Chronal Control Chamber
This was a device used by the Lord of Time in order to perceive events taking place in alternate timelines. He likewise used the chamber to physically displace himself through time.

Chronicles of Choloh
The Chronicles of Choloh were a series of ancient texts written in the time of Pre-Cataclysmic Atlantis. The chronicles provided a comprehensive history of the continent, most of which, has now been lost to time.

Clear Crossing
This was a special obstacle course located in the Batcave designed to resemble an actual Gotham City street. Batman and Robin used Clear Crossing as a means of testing their battle reflexes.
Clone
A clone is an artificially created duplicate of a pre-existing organism. Generally, clones are produced through scientific means, though clones can also be created through mystical practices. While clones inherit many physical and mental attributes from their parent organisms, sentient clones have independent minds and free will. They are not to be confused with Drones, which are physically distinct organisms, but mentally subservient to a hive mind. Duploids are also different from clones in that while they may be an exact copy of the source organism, they generally do not possess free will.

Coalition to Resist Atomic Power
Also known as C.R.A.P., the Coalition was an American terrorist organization that actively protested against the use of nuclear energy. They are responsible for the destruction of the Hudson Nuclear Power Plant.

Columbus
In Pre-Crisis continuity, the Columbus was Earth's first manned space craft. Launched in 1958, it was the ship to make first contact with the Coluan known as Brainiac. The Columbus was named after famed Italian explorer Christopher Columbus.

Constitution
The Constitution was an experimental NASA space-shuttle. It nearly crashed into the city of Metropolis, but Clark Kent flew into sky and brought the ship safely down. The incident inspired reporter Lois Lane to name him Superman for the first time.

Costumed Freaks
"The Costumed Freaks" is a frequently used derogative nickname for heroes or villains who don disguises or unusual outfits. It is most commonly used by regular villains, such as Criminals or Gangsters, or regular "heroes" such as police officers, who hold an unpleasant attitude towards members of the superhero or supervillain communities.

This was the name of an amateur horror movie directed by junior high student Preston Lindsay. The film featured an Acromegaly victim named Hector.

The CW Network is an amalgamation of former television broadcasting companies, the WB and UPN. The CW airs seasons 5 and up of Smallville.

Cyclops
Used in both the singular and the plural, a Cyclops is a mythical creature of Greek legend. They are distinguished by their overbearing size and single eye located in the center of their forehead. Cyclops were one of several races of creatures present during the "Amazons Attack" event.
