Creating a new article from scratch can be a very daunting task. To help you get started, you may want to copy and paste a template from below to use as guidelines for what type of information should be included.

Alternatively, please refer to DC Database:Create a New Page that starts the entries with templates for you.

Comic Issue Descriptors

To include special templates in articles, type the template name in between double brackets {{like so}}.

  • 1st - To be placed next to character names on comic issue pages to denote the first appearance of a character
  • ApDeath - To be placed next to character names on comic issues pages to denote an unconfirmed (or reversed) death
  • Final - To be placed next to character names on comic issue pages to denote a character's final appearance
  • Cameo - To be placed next to character names on comic issue pages to denote a cameo appearance
  • Only - To be placed next to character names on comic issue pages to denote a character who has only made a single appearance to date
  • Only Dies - To be placed next to character names on comic issue pages to denote a character who is introduced and killed in the same issue.
  • BTS - To be placed next to character names on comic issue pages to denote a character who makes a 'behind-the-scenes' appearance only.
  • Deceased - To be placed next to character names on comic issue pages to denote a character who appears deceased only.
  • Dream - To be placed next to character names on comic issue pages to denote a character who appears in a dream state only.
  • Photo - To be placed next to character names on comic issue pages to denote a character who appears in a photograph or painting only.
  • Flashback - To be placed next to character names on comic issue pages to denote a character who appears in flashback only.
  • Flashalso - To be placed next to character names on comic issue pages to denote a character who appears both in the actual comic issue, as well as in flashback.

Notes Section

The following templates should be added to the Notes section of the appropriate character profile pages.

  • Multicont Earth-One - Describes characters who were introduced in Earth-One continuity, but whose existence is preserved in modern continuity.
  • Multicont Earth-Two - Describes characters who were introduced in Earth-Two continuity, but whose existence is preserved in modern continuity.
  • Charlton - To be placed in the notes section of comic issue pages to describe comic book issue that were originally published by Charlton Comics.
  • Martian Powers - A collapsible breakdown of the Green Martian powers set. Should be added to Martian character pages, even if said character has not demonstrated every Martian ability in a canonical resource. Major characters, such as the Martian Manhunter, should have their power descriptions fully written out rather than using this template.
  • Smallville - A continuity marker to be placed at the bottom of character pages relating to the television series Smallville.
  • VFV - A continuity marker to be placed at the bottom of articles relating to the V for Vendetta limited series and feature film.
