Notes

  • This issue combines elements of both the Golden Age version of Superman, as well prepares for the revamping of the character for the Silver Age. In the opening story, Superman's birth-parents are known as Jor-L and Lora, whereas later Silver Age versions update their names as Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van. Superman's foster parents alter their names slightly from Golden to Silver age as well. The Golden Age Kents are named John and Mary, whereas the Silver Age Kents are named Jonathan Kent and Martha Kent.
  • This issue is the first full appearance of Jor-L and Lora. They were briefly seen behind-the-scenes in an introduction in Action Comics #1, but were never referenced by name.

Trivia

  • This issue marks the ten year anniversary of Superman.
